Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency held Awarding the Winners of the 2024 Color of Jakarta (CoJ) Photography Competition.

CoJ 2024 has the theme 'A Million Charms of Jakarta' with four competition categories, namely Photo Series, Human in Jakarta, Jakarta's Public Space & Landscape, and Jakarta's Public Space & Landscape (Drone).

Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, presented the award and handed over the prize to the competition winners.

Heru said that this photography competition is part of Jakarta's 497th Anniversary. Apart from that, CoJ is also an activity that Jakarta residents are looking forward to, capturing the life of Jakarta City in photographs. Evidently, people's enthusiasm for taking part in this competition has increased quite significantly. A total of 4,539 photo works from 979 competition participants were collected. This number has increased by 30 percent from the 2023 CoJ which received 3,115 photo works from 640 participants.

"I thank the residents of Jakarta who are very enthusiastic about following and participating in CoJ 2024. The number of participants increased by 30 percent showing high enthusiasm in expressing Jakarta through digital spaces. This gives us optimism to realize Jakarta as a Global City that can provide millions of charms," Heru said, Wednesday (6/26).

At the same event, Acting Jakarta Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency, Sigit Widjatmoko, stated the theme of the 2024 CoJ photography competition is an elaboration of the theme of the 497th Anniversary of Jakarta, namely 'Jakarta, a Global City with Millions of Charms'. This theme was expressed in 4,539 photos from 979 participants. This number consists of 1,370 photos in the Human in Jakarta category, 1,076 photos in the Public Space and Landscape category, 408 photos in the Drone category, and 1,685 photos in the Photo Series category.

All submitted photos have been curated by a panel of professional judges, namely Darwis Triadi (Professional Photographer), Arbain Rambey (Indonesian Photo Reporter), and Barry Kusuma (Travel Photographer and Videographer).

"We would like to thank the jury, photography community, mass media and parties who have always supported the Jakarta Provincial Government in holding the Color of Jakarta photography competition since 2010," Sigit stated as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.

The winner of the competition gets a trophy and cash. 1st place winner gets a cash prize worth Rp 15,000,000, 2nd place winner Rp 10,000,000, and 3rd place winner Rp 8,000,000.
